AR Menu
AR Menu shows dishes in 3D on the table in front of you. It has no account, no ads and no analytics. Your menu stays on your phone; when you scan a new dish, its photos are sent to KIRI Engine to build the 3D model.
What the app stores
Your menu items (name, description and price), their 3D models, and a small picture of each from its first scan photo.
Scanning a dish
To scan a dish, the camera takes 20 to 300 photos of it. When you tap "Build 3D model", they're uploaded to KIRI Engine (api.kiriengine.app), a 3D-scanning service run by KIRI Innovations, which builds the model the app then downloads. The dish's name and description aren't sent.
Scan photos show whatever is around the dish, so scan on a plain surface. They're deleted from your phone after uploading. KIRI Engine keeps them under its own privacy policy, and deleting a dish in the app doesn't delete them there.
Augmented reality
AR uses Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), which is provided by Google and covered by Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). The camera view is processed on your phone.
Permissions
Camera: for scanning dishes and for AR.
Internet: to send scans to KIRI Engine and download the models.
Sharing
AR Menu doesn't sell your data or send it anywhere other than KIRI Engine, as described above.
Deleting your data
Deleting a dish removes its model and picture from your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.
Children
AR Menu isn't aimed at children.
Phone backups
If you've turned on backup to your Google account in Android's settings, Android may include AR Menu's saved data in that backup. The backup belongs to your Google account and isn't sent to me.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
Contact
AR Menu is made by Kidus Yohannes. Questions about this policy or your data: kidyoh789@gmail.com.
